This would include those who entered this country as students and former government officials of certain European nations. Many of these people are indeed as much displaced persons as those still in Europe. This section 4 would allow aliens who entered the United States as visitors prior to March 15. 1948. and who cannot be admitted for permanent residence under present immigratior. laws. to remain in this country. This section of the House bill. however. fails to take into account the country of the person involved in all its provisions. Sometimes it deals with the country of birth. and sometimes with the country of present nationality.
