This very distinguished gentleman. as the gentleman from Nebraska well knows. is the latest of a distinguished line of. men who have insisted upon freedom. and who as ambassadors to the United States and elsewhere in the world from countries upon which the iron curtain has fallen. have chosen freedom. The next to the last one was Aladar SzegediMaszak. the minister from Hungary. who is now a refugee in this country. I trust. and I know that the gentleman trusts. that our State Department will not now follow the pattern it has heretofore set by recognizing the Communist government of Czechoslovakia.
