According to Dean Achesons own statement. made in the hearings. the vast majority of these refugees now In our zones are political refugees from the Soviet sphere of influence. I quote Mr. Achesons words: The problem. then. is that of the remaining displaced persons. about 1.000.000 people. of whom some 600.000 are in the United States zone.
