Mr. President. the purpose of this bill is to permit the Chinese wives of American citizens. if otherwise eligible for admission into. the United States. to come into the United States to join their citizen husbandsas nonquota citizens. so as to have the same privilege which runs to other persons eligible for naturalization. I may say. Mr. President. that this bill has the support of the Bureau of Immigration of the Department of Justice. and I have a letter from the State Department in which they point out the Importance of the passage of the bill. Coming from a State in which there are a considerable number of ChineseAmerican citizens. I wish to say that they have made good citizens.
