I should like to refer to a bill which I intend to introduce. and I should like to ask the Senator from Georgia what he thinks of it. The proposed bill to which I refer reads as follows: Be it enacted. etc.SECTION 1. That until the expiration of 5 years after the date of enactment of this act no immigration visa shall be issued to any quota immigrant. SEC. 2. Terms defined In the Immigration Act of 1924 shall. when used in this act. have the meaning assigned to such terms in that act. Mr. President. it is my purpose to introduce that bill at the first opportunity I am able to obtain. I desire at this time to ask the Senator from Georgia. who is chairman of the Immigration Committee. to give us the benefit of his views regarding it. Perhaps I should not ask him to prejudge the bill.
