I wish to make use of the forum of Congress to appeal to His Majestys Government of Sweden to reconsider its decision to surrender to the Soviet Government 157 alleged prisoners of war from. theBaltic Provinces. These alleged prisoners of war are Lithuanians to a great extent. some Esthonians and Latvians who were dragooned into the German Army and who escaped to Sweden at the first opportunity. I am sure the proud record of the great Government of Sweden and its humanitarian cooperation on all questions of displaced prisoners and refugees will at this time make it reconsider in this instance.
