Session #79 · 1945–47

Speech #790105982

Mr. Chairman. I believe this bill is an equitable bill. If you will take the trouble to read the hearings. you will find. as I have pointed out. its importance to this country and how urgent it is that we pass this bill in the interest of future trade. also. it could be one of the finest gestures we could make toward millions of people. The following is the text of the letter I received from Franklin D. Roosevelt. the late President: WASHINGTON. March 5. 1945. Hon. SAMUEL DiCKSTEIN. Chairman. Committee on Immigration and Naturalization. House of Representatives. Washington. D.
