I am glad. too. that the bill now before us calls for the Army engineers to study into the possibilities for the development of Monterey Bay. This harbor. centrally located in California between San Francisco and Los Angeles. has a wonderful future. and I feel confident that the study to be made by the Army engineers will be but the first step of many that will eventually culminate In a great port here. May I point out also that there are several other harbor possibilities in this stretch of coast line between Los Angeles and San Francisco which will inevitably play an important role in west coast development and in the expansion of our Asiatic trade. I refer especially to Ventura. Port Hueneme.
