Mr. Speaker. I hope today. in the few remarks that I shall make. to contribute something toward the thinking of this Congress. and the people. on the subject of Asiatic and Far Eastern questions. It is a very appropriate occasion. in view of the meeting that has been held. and is being held in the Near East on the same subject. The other day I found a United Press report in one of the papers concerning remarks that were attributed to Saburo Kurusu. whom we all remember as a special envoy to Washington. and who enabled things to be strung out to the point where the premeditated destruction of Pearl Harbor could happen without warning.
