The Senator from Maine and the Senator from Connecticut agreed that I might make a motion today to reconsider the action taken on House bill 2207. I do so. I am in accord with the objectives of House bill 2207. I wish to see it passed. It is a good bill. At the time it was placed on the calendar. however. I prepared an amendment to it. The amendment was sent to the Department of Justice by the Committee on Immigration. A report was submitted to the Committee on Immigration by the Attorney General. I therefore move that the Senate reconsider the vote on the passage of the bill.
