No one from the State Department testified before your committee. In .years gone by we never legislated in this .body on matters of immigration without giving the profoundest respect to the �opinion of the State Department. I have that respect for the State Department yet. I know that this sort of legislation will not be approved by those in the State Department who administer the immigration laws.
