Speaker. I should like. if I can. to clarify things a little. The only intention of the committee in proposing this legislation was to give to noncitizen parents of boys now serving in our armed forces the right to an immediate hearing for citizenship if they want such hearing. It is said that these parents feel there is a sort of stigma against them as alien enemies. or at least. as aliens. yet their own sons are fighting in our forces in all parts of the world just the same as sons of American citizens. That is the intention of the bill. and we will amend it if necessary with that in mind.
