Session #78 · 1943–45

Speech #780069567

Mr. Speaker. that if the Members read the testimony. and it is going to be printed. they will be convinced beyond doubt that this exclusion law must be removed not only in order to do justice to our great ally China but to do the right thing for America. After hearing. or reading. the testimony of the outstanding witnesses who appeared before our committee in support of repeal of the Chinese exclusion laws. one can come to no conclusion other than that of removing all the restrictions against the Chinese people. The existence of this law is a great danger to our war effort. Why did my colleague not tell you about Admiral Yarnell who testified before our committee and who has been in service mostly with the Pacific Fleet for 50 years?
