Session #78 · 1943–45

Speech #780041370

Mr. Speaker. it was my intention to discuss the refugee question and the Bermuda conference that is to take place shortly. but I find that time does not allow it. However. I join my colleague the gentleman from Illinois . the ranking minority member of the Committee on Immigration and Naturalization. in the belief that our committee should be represented at the Bermuda conference. The world is afire. Millions of people are being slaughtered. The civilized world is looking to all free nations and all democracies to do something for the unfortunate women and children who are in danger of being killed.
