Session #78 · 1943–45

Speech #780035405

I was for that bill. In fact. I introduced one of the first alienregistration bills offered in this House. I voted for the alienregistration bill. At the time I voted for it I had no idea that a new organization would be set up in the Bureau of Immigration to follow through and to personally interview these foreigners to find out this. that. and the other thing about them. I do not believe that is a necessary war activity. The chairman of the subcommittee. the gentleman from Michigan . has just concluded telling you about the fine work of the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
