But in upholding the lower court the Circuit Court of Appeals said this: The court also found that at the time of his natualization and during the 5 years prior thereto. petitioner was a member of the Communist Party. the principles of which were opposed to the Constitution. and advised. advocated. and taught the violent overthrow of the Government. Constitution. and laws of the United States. and disbelief in and opposition to organized government. That is what the court said he stood for. after looking into his face and hearing his testimony. that the petitioner believed in. advocated and supported the principles of the Communist Party. that the petitioner was "a disbeliever in" and "opposed to organized government." and that he was a member of an organization "teaching disbelief in or opposition to organized government."
