Session #77 · 1941–43

Speech #770122711

A number of other foreign countries claim the same thing. Now. it is just hoped that this will help clarify that situation and let this individual of a country where he is claimed to have dual citizenshipnot be himself. but where the country claims he has dual citizenshipgive him the right to take an oath and say. "I do not claim any citizenship in such country. and do not owe allegiance to its government." It gives him the right to do that very thing. It is practically the same oath that is given to an individual when he becomes a naturalized citizen.
