Speaker. preceding the call of the Private Calendar. I desire to make a brief statement. There are sundry bills on the Private Calendar canceling deportation warrants against certain aliens of Italian and German lineage to which we propose to object. We hope that our objection will rot be interpreted as prejudicial against these - bills. Perhaps under circumstances other than those which have recently arose they would be meritorious. but we thought it might be wise for the Committee on Immigration and Naturalization to reconsider these bills in light of the circumstances which have developed in the last few days.
