I make mention of Mr. STARNES being here now because he is a member of the Dies committee. He has been more deeply interested in the matter of the deportation of alien criminals and the fingerprinting of aliens than any other man I know of in the Congress of the United States. If 5 years ago we had enacted the registration and fingerprinting law which I advocated over the years. I dare say that today we would not be bothered by the number of spies and saboteurs who seem to be operating in the country at this hour. as a result of which the very excellent Director of the Bureau of Investigation was occasioned to call upon the Congress of the United States to provide additional funds for that division of the Government.
