In the first place. I speak only for myself on this issue. I have opposed the trade treaties which I thought were unfair to our free American labor paid $3 a day and upward. bringing them into direct competition with the poorly paid labor of Europe and Asia ranging from 2C cents a day in Japan to $1 a day in the central part of Europe. but much as I have opposed these trade treaties with European and Asiatic countries. much as I am opposed to meddling in foreign affairs. I am a pan American and will go as far as anyone in this House to uphold our distinguished Secretary of State. Mr.
