There are many corrections and criticisms made here. but I am not going to be tedious and press them all. I have done this simply that I might bring to the attention of the gentleman and the committee the importance of the measure and to indicate that experts can find many loopholes. and today one of the biggest immigration experts in the United States told me that this bill was full of loopholes. I said. "If you will stop long enough to show me what they are and how to correct them. I will be glad to try to do it." There is one thing about it. however. we can take refuge in the fact that this is not the only day we are going to live. we hope. and it is not the only day Congress is going to be in session. and if this bill is not perfect. we can perfect it as we have been compelled to do in connection with every other gigantic step we have taken in connection with new legislation of this kind.
