Mr. Speaker. this bill comes by unanimous report of the Committee on Immigration and Naturalization. Its object is to remove discrimination between a male minister and a female minister. Under the present law we allow a minister of the gospel of every religious denomination to enter the country without regard to the quota or without regard to any regulation other than the fact that he must qualify as a minister of the gospel. Attention has been called by a number of organizations to the fact that a number of women ministers of the gospel are being discriminated against because this exemption does not apply to them.
