Mr. President. as a member of the Committee on Immigration I wish to say that I hope the Presidents plan will be approved. It will be observed that there is on the Calendar Order of Business 1166. Senate Resolution 168. providing for an investigation of the immigration of aliens into the United States. which has been unanimously reported from the Committee on Immigration. The resolution was prompted by a conviction on my part. approved unanimously by the Committee on Immigration. that the Bureau of Immigration. under the present Secretary of Labor. is not functioning as the law intends it should function. I hope that the Senate will approve the Presidents plan.
