Session #75 · 1937–39

Speech #750017556

Mr. Speaker. reserving the right to object. there has been so much fraudulent violation of the immigration laws of 1924 that I am always skeptical of changing those laws at all. If there is any injustice done to these particular individuals. I think it ought to be taken up under special bills. or private bills. for these individuals. because. in my honest opinion. if you pass this law. while you are trying to take care of a very few people. you are going to throw the bars down for more fraudulent immigration into this country. such as we have had since 1924.
