I wish respectfully to call the attention of the Senator from New York to the fact that we are not especially interested In the 2.862 cases wherein deportation is being suspended. but I respectfully direct the attention of the Senator to the fact that under the pending bill an interdepartmental committee is set up which would have the right to pass upon the deportation or nondeportation of any number of aliens who might be apprehended in this country within the next 3 years. because it is my understanding that the life of the interdepartmental committee is extended for a period of 3 years.
