Session #74 · 1935–37

Speech #740207085

Mr. President. I know of no question in which I am more deeply interested than in the question of the deportation of habitual alien criminals. and. the restriction of immigration under the laws of this country. and in order that I might serve the farmers of North Carolina. who were expecting the tobaccocompact bill to be passed yesterday. as it has passed today. I was forced to limit my argument upon the pending KerrCoolidge bill to 3 hours. There is so much to be said about it that I have looked forward with great pleasure to the physical activity involved in speaking upon the floor of the Senate 10 hours a day for 30 days.
