Identical bills. which would amend the immigration laws by including alien " communists " among those undesirable to be deported under the provisions of those laws. As to whether such a law is necessary. I feel that I should express no views. since the deportation of undesirable aliens is committed to the Secretary of Labor. An office memorandum. a copy of which is inclosed herewith. contains comments on the definition of the word communists" which may be of interest to you. Respectfully.
