Session #72 · 1931–33

Speech #720027989

Mr. President. some days ago I gave notice that as soon as I could secure recognition following the disposition of the bill to provide for the deportation of certain alien seamen. and for other purposes. I would move to proceed to the consideration of the bill to provide for cooperation by the Federal Government with the several States in relieving the hardship and suffering caused by unemployment. and for other purposes. Since giving that notice many Senators have appealed to me not to press the motion this week in order that they might have an opportunity to study the bill and to read the hearings.
