I agree with the thought that inspires the Senators remarks. but it seems to me that this will work out just the opposite way. There is a pool of aliens in every large seacoast city at this time. If we allow them to ship for round trips. they go through a filtering process. because every time one of those ships comes back those men are inspected by the immigration authorities. If. on the other hand. we say that they can not be shipped at all then they remain in this country uninspected by anybody. uncontested in any way. and will be taking the jobs of good American citizens every time they get any work to do. This will have the effect of subjecting to scrutiny every man who is hired for a foreign trip. because as soon as the ship comes back he has to undergo an inspection.
