Session #72 · 1931–33

Speech #720008239

Mr. President. when this matter came up before. I asked the chairman of the committee whether he would not be willing to have the bill rereferred to his committee in order that hearings might be had upon it. There are certain persons who believe that it is very much contrary to their interests. and no hearings have been held on this measure for some time. I now ask the chairman of the Immigration Committee whether he will not be willing to have the bill go back to his committee in order that hearings may promptly be held. and the bill then brought back to the calendar.
