Mr. President. Senate bill 202 providing for the deportation of certain alien seamen. and for other purposes. was passed by the Senate early last year. Subsequent to its passage the Senator from Connecticut moved to reconsider the votes by which the bill was read the third time and passed and that it be recalled from the House. The motion for reconsideration has been pending since that time. Upon several occasions I have sought to have the motion disposed of. but without success. In my opinion there is no reason why this measure should not pass. and I feel compelled to urge that the motion be acted upon.
