It provides for an increase in the salaries of clerks in the Immigration Service. It puts them on the same basis as clerks in the Customs Service. At the present time. as the gentlemuan knows. there is great disparity between these two classes of clerks. and both do the same type of work. exactly. This bill provides t system of increases for them. just as the bill that was passed two years ago. which provided for an increase in the salaries of inspectors.
