Mr. Chairman. I desire to say at the outset that I have consistently supported the immigration legislation which has been reported from this committee and have voted for its enactment into law. I do not appear before this committee for the purpose of making any attack upon the basis of that law. I believe in the restriction of immigration. I am convinced that restrictions are necessary and that the present law has generally demonstrated its usefulness. I speak only for my own State. I am not qualified to talk for the entire country with respect to the neei for agricultural labor. but I do know what the conditions are in A izona.
