President. the amendment offered by the Senator from Wyoming is very similar to a provision contained in a bill drafted by the Department of Labor and introduced in the Senate in 1928 by the Senator from Indiana . At that time the Secretary of Labor submitted a favorable report on the Watson bill which was in accord with the recommendations contained In his annual report relative to the temporary admission of seasonal agricultural laborers. I have appeared before committees of the House of Representatives in previous years advocating the enactment of legislation of this kind. I have no desire to detain the Senate and therefore ask leave to include as a part of my remarks a statement that I made before the House Committee on Immigration and Naturalization. I shall vote for the Kendrick amendment.
