Mr. Speaker. the resolution reported by the House Committee on Immigration and Naturalization deferring the operation of the nationalorigins clause should be adopted. The time is too short to give proper consideration to the repeal of this unfair and discriminatory provision. To defer its operation for another year is the only safe step to take at the present time. Necessity compels those who believe in its repeal or who are seeking further information on this subject to adopt this course. To permit it to go into operation will mean that its repeal will be less possible than if it is deferred at this time.
