Mr. Chairman. I want to take this opportunity to again call attention of the House to the situation brought about by the present immigration law. I realize that this is a very sensitive subject for a great many Members of time 1ouse. for there seems to be an attitude of refusing to even consider the situation. Any suggestion made by some of us who come from the large cities is viewed with a great deal of disfavor. and yet for the last three or four years the President has specifically recommended in his message to Congress an amendment which will humanize the law.
