Speech #680192536

President. I wish you could see these people. I wish you coul. know. something of their desire to become American citizens. As the heart panteth after the clear waters. these. people yearn for citizenship. I went into one of our courts in New York where 75 men and women were to be naturalized on that day. As they came before the judgepeople of various nationalities. Irish. English. Spanish. French. Belgian. German. Turk. Armenian. Greek. and of almost every other country in the worldand I saw the look of determination and interest they had. betokening their willItgness to. devote. themselves. to this great country. and how. eager they were for our citizenship.
