These people are mostly the wives and children of persons who are already in the United States. If you do not pass this bill you must deport these people. Whether or not you voted for the recent immigration bill. I beg of you to vote for this pending measure. which has the support of the Department of Labor as well as of the Immigration Committee. I have received a great number of telegrams from religious institutions and humanitarian people in reference to this bill. Including the following from the president of the Hebrew Immigration Aid Society: Please support CopelandSabath resolution which will admit wives and children now held United States immigration stations because recent Supreme Court ruling. Gottlieb case. Humanity demands these unfortunates not be deported. through no fault theirs. As I said when the last immigration bill passed. you have left open the bortlers of Mexico to unlimited immigration. Last year more than 212.000 persons came in. I beg of you. in the interest of humanity. to pass this pending bill. for which I shall vote.
