I think we ought to strike out this provision. As I said just now. I think the Mexicans are among the most undesirable immigrants who come into our country. I hope the Senate will vote for my substitute to the amendment of -the Senator from Ohio . If I can not get my substitute adopted. I am going to vote for the amendment of the Senator from Ohio. and I hope that it will be adopted if my substitute be not agreed to. I have made the best fight I could for restrictive immigration. and while I would like to prohibit all Immigration for five years I am more than pleased to get it greatly reduced. and I am not going to take the time of the Senate further. Mr. President.
