Difficult as the task is. serious as the obstacles are. the question must soon be dealt with. But. gentlemen. Rome was not built in a day. and we can not overcome all of the difficultles at once. I will say that I never heard of these gentlemen who oppose this bill making any objection to Mexican immigration in all the fight I have for years been making here against it. They are much concerned now when we are proposing to keep some one else out. I think that the record will show that some of these gentlemen who are complaining now voted against my every effort to keep them out at the time.
