Yes. the Senator points out that of that total our increase in population from southern and eastern Europe is only 6.000 and 36.000 from northern and western Europesurely. Mr. President. a very small number. indeed. For my part. I am not willing to vote yet to shut out all immigration from all countries in the world. I believe that the restriction has worked well. I believe that it was a good thing to adopt. but I also believe there are very many good people in some of the other countries of the world that can do no harm to us by coming here.
