I only want to say that I have not exanlined .the substitute which the Senator has offered. and so I do not know that I have any objection to it. but it seems to me that what we ought to do now is to make sure that the present law does not lapse oil the 30th of June. If we undertake at this molent to revise the entire immigration act. it will take us a good while. Tile most important thing is to get the pending joint resolution passed in order to make sure that the present law is extended. I am in favor of a revision of tile present law. I know that the Commissioner of Immigration has made some very important suggestions. I think we ought to go over the whole law and I suppose that will soon be done. But it seems to me that it is of first importance at this moment to make sure that the present law does not lapse o1 the 30th of June.
