Session #66 · 1919–21

Speech #660330992

Mr. President. I wish to put the Senate on notice that if we do not get a vote on the immigration bill. there are some other bills that are going to be considered thoroughly in the Senate. We are passing appropriation bills here in a day that we ought to consider for weeks. and the hearings ought to be gone into by the Senate. I am willing to let those bills and others go through without proper consideration. but I do not believe in letting just as important bills be turned aside because there happens to be a few Senators who are opposed to them.
