Speech #660272700

Mr. Chairman and gentlemen. many Members have been through these immigration debates in years past and know they become sharp and acrimonious. All phases of the matter of immigration and regulation of immigration are subject to much debate and much honest difference. Immigration hearings. particularly of late. cover everything from the cost of food up to the question of maintaining our form of government. The committee has held many hearings. This bill is an abridgment of a bill introduced last Februairy. which was H. R. 12320. The report presented by the committee now contains the views of two Members of * the minority. the gentleman from New York and the gentleman from Illinois .
