I can assure the Senator that the State DepartDient aid the Labor Department have been cooperating with Canada. with Great Britain. ailtd with our other allies. and mutually reciprocal arrangements have Ieen entered into wich possess more or less the form of regulations that are entirely satisfactory. I have had a number of conferences with representatives of tile Labor Department having to do with the immigration and with the passport divisions of the State Departnient. and they stated that there are no difficulties whatever. particularly with Canada. and that there is no plan. if this bill shall be enacted into law. to disturb the relations tlat now exist between the United States and Canada . that there will be the same free.intercourse between the people of the respective countries after this bill has been enacted into law as exists today nnder mutual arrangements which perlaps d not have tie force of law.
