The alien enemy Is barred out. by the first four lines of the section I have read and referred to several times. Now. the gentleman should not prevent those aliens who have been denied the validity of the certificates of naturalization Issued to them by the courts in accordance with the law as the courts understood it from obtaining the benefits of this act. I should think that old alien. whose declaration has been filed for seven years and who in good faith has performed his part as a resident of this country. should have the opportunity to val!date his naturalization if he is not an enemy. I feel- if he can do it under this bill. perhaps it is a short cut to correcting some of the errors of the courts as they have been determinled recently by the Supreme Court of the United States.
