Mr. Speaker. reserving the right to object. I Tave asked to be recognized this morning for the purpose of seeking unanimous consent. after the passageof the deficiency bill. to call up what is known as the alien slacker bill. a bill reported by the Committee on Immigration. in regard to the conscription of aliens who are citizens or subjects of a country in war in Europe. I thought it proper to give. this notice now in order that gentlemen might not act on the Idea that nothing else would be taken up. I might not get unanimous consent. I hope I may. because there is great demand for that bill. especially insections of the country where there are a great many aliens who are seeking to avoid and are avoiding conscription.
