Session #64 · 1915–17

Speech #640216030

No. the immigration bill is before the Senate. I was saying to the Senator in charge of the bill I should like to have an opportunity to present these amendments to him on the floor. It now appears that the bill is ready for a vote unless some one desires to speak on it. As far as I am concerned. I do not want to be put to the unpleasant task of talking on the bill and consuming the morning hour. I will ask the Senator from South Carolina if he will be willing to let the bill go over until tomorrow morning and allow me to present these amendments to him?
