I desire to emphasize the fact that the expression "the destruction of property." as well as the expression " all forms of law." have absolutely no meaning whatever. The advocacy or teaching of unlawful destruction of property is a crime. and it is reached by subsequent provisions contained in the same section. The section provides that an alien who shall have been convicted of a crime shall be deported. The expressions I complain of have no meaning. except that it will become possible for some employers during strikes to remove the strike leaders by charging them with advocating or teaching the unlawful destruction of property. and in that way. without due process of law. to deprive the strike leader of trial by jury. and of his day in court. He will be taken before a board of special inquiry. consisting of laymen. where lie has no right to be represented by counsel.
