Mr. Speaker. the rule which is now before the House for consideration providing for the taking up of the immigration bill is one which is fair and which is liberal. There has been a demand for several years. and there is now throughout the country. for some kind of further legislation looking to the restriction of immigration. Like my friend the gentleintin from New York . who has just spoken. I am for expediting the public business. and I believe that this House should put in its time in trying to pass legislation that is necessary and that has been demanded by the people throughout the country.
